About
Melanie Fidler is a freelance photojournalist who has covered ongoing and emerging conflicts from the war in Israel and Lebanon as well as personal feature stories. Melanie has studied at the Huntington School of Fine Arts and began her interest in photography at the University of Delaware where she received her bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in photography.
Melanie began her career traveling the world with Semester at Sea, a unique study abroad program where she earned 15 credits through a global studies program involving fieldwork and cross-cultural exposure in 11 different countries. After graduating the University in May 2005, she boldly moved to Jerusalem to work for Flash90 photo and news agency covering social activities, spot news, conflict, public relations, and politics amongst other topics. Her work has been published in Maariv, Duet Magazine, Mayanot Birthright and Westcoast Connection brochures, The Australian, Jerusalem Post Online, Makor Rishon, Queens Tribune, and The New York Times. Melanie Fidler is currently based in New York freelancing for The New Jersey Nets and The New York Times and is working on several new projects.
