Member Publications
I don’t know about the rest of you. But I really enjoy sharing in the success of other LS members. And it’s always great to see the work of other LS members appear in the international media.
One of the functions I enjoy most on the LS website is the Member Publications section on the homepage, because it allows me to view the most recent, published, work of LS members.
It seem two LS members – Andrew and Wayne have made a small mistake in adding their publication information to their profiles. Because on the LS homepage, this is what I see – and this is most likely what I will see for the next six months given the dates (mar /06 and june /06). – See below -
Any chance at correcting this?

| Member Publications | Manage your publications |
| 6/19/06 – Andrew Ernst in What it Takes |
| 3/1/06 – Wayne E. Yang in Voices of the World / Voces del Mundo |
| 10/12/05 – Nelson Antoine in Diario do Grande ABC |

That’s a good point Ryan. I’ve just tweaked the code; what we’ll do is exclude future publications. This way, people can continue to add stuff in advance of its publication date, while people looking at the home page will only see "current" listings. I think this works better…
|
Sorry, everyone. Didn’t realize that there was a page that kept the most "current" listings up. Voices of the World does indeed come out in 2006, but I certainly didn’t mean to hog the listing. Thanks for the fix, Shinji.

All good Wayne—you should definitely feel free to put future publications in…

How does this function work? I also enjoy looking at others work. I posted about a week ago a publication for myself, and it never showed on the home page. It is listed on my profile though. Is there a reason for this? Are publications checked before being allowed on the home page? Is there a proces to go through to get a publication listed on the home page? Thanks
|
All my last posts never appeared—on the home page that is, they do of course appear on my profile, which is where I want them most. Forthe first time I can keep track of things! But I have no idea why sometimes my post appears on the home page and sometimes not! ha!
|
Mine have never appeared either.

Ryan,
Do you know Eugene Hoshiko of AP in Shanghai?
|
Yep, me too. Couldn’t post about a photo of mine appearing in BusinessWeek: Oct. 9, page 11.
|
me neither. on the profile page only. i can only see three all by Kevin M. that say “Nov. 1” as the publication date. my oct. 29 (today!) never showed! i’m sure kevin’s work is nice but it would be great to see what’s been published by folks today (not just mine, everybody).
|
yeah this seems to be a function of publication dates often being in the future, so you are in the (for example) November 6 issue of X magazine, that’s much newer than October 29. Maybe the code could be tweaked to show TODAY’s publications rather than whatever is the furthest in the future and hence “newest.”

how do you post in the publications section? i have some things i would like to share. -chad

i would also like to know how to post in member publications section. thanks.

I try to see the publications for the ING Microfinance Journal but all I get reffered to is the Lightstalkers homepage.
Secondly, how do I add a publication without having to trawl through page after page? The website is increasingly slow and it’s frustrating to wait minutes on end for just a single page to load, let alone a handsful of pages before I reach the entry for the ING Microfinance Journal.
