About
New York City-based designer Meredith Burns is a newcomer to the fashion world, though she has been working behind the scenes for quite some time. To further enrich her diverse education in the Visual Arts, Liberal Arts, & Fashion Design, Meredith worked at The New York City Opera Wardrobe, The Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Gucci Public Relations, and Calvin Klein, all of which have contributed to the unique sensibility that informs her designs.
Although Meredith is a young designer, having debuted her first collection in 2003, she is committed to using the highest quality fabrics and craftsmanship for her designs, and embraces her love of fashion history in researching for each collection. Her passion for travel and antiquity is often a great source of inspiration.
The look of the collection is really an eclectic mix; classic embellishments such as beading, embroidery, lace and fringe, combined with the latest European fabrics, put in a contemporary context to create a collection that is feminine and wearable.
Merediths designs have been featured in many fashion magazine editorials, including Vanity Fair, Teen People, Time Out New York, Paper, WWD, the London Times, Surface, Nikki, and Bon among others. Her Collection can be found at exclusive boutiques around the world, including Neiman Marcus in L.A., Kabuki in Paris, and Clube Chocolate in Brazil.
