About

I am a photojournalist born (1969) and based in The Netherlands. After a career as an Art Director at a Dutch design and advertising agency I studied photojournalism at the Academy of Photography Amsterdam (Fotoacademie Amsterdam). Working as a professional photojournalist since 2000, my work has appeared in various Dutch national and international newspapers and magazines such as: De Volkskrant, NRC Handelsblad, Le Figaro, Le Monde, La Liberation, Het Financieele Dagblad, USA Today. Contrast, Quote, Nature Magazine, Pictorial Post, The Smithsonian, Newsweek, National Geographic Magazine and others.

Media center in Gori bombed

Some more terrible news about journalists. The media center in Gori was bombed today in an Russian air strike killing five people. Amongst them Dutch RTL cameraman Stan Storimans. His colleague RTL correspondent Jeroen Akkermans was wounded in the leg. At this point it is still unknown how many wounded there are.

The broadcasting center of the national radio and TV station was also located in the building.
