I’m heading to Washington D.C. ( Jan 16-22) for Obama’s inauguration and I need to sort out a place to stay.

As D.C. is expecting a couple million people to hit the city to celebrate the event, finding affordable accommodation will undoubtedly be tough.

Does anyone know if there are any places in the capital area – convention centers, schools and such – which might offer cheap accommodation during the inauguration week? I’m talking very basic, mattress and a pillow on the floor type thing?
