Seeking Gallery Submissions

Reciprocity Studio is currently accepting submissions for our next exhibit, opening in May. We are seeking bodies of work that deal with women and/or children in developing countries. Documentary stories, portraits, single images and groups of images that otherwise showcase one issue or theme relevant to this subject are encouraged.

Please submit up to 20 images (with captions) that you feel best represent your work, accompanied by an artist statement. Depending on the quality and relevance of submissions, we will do either a group exhibit or a solo exhibit if one individual submits an outstanding body of work. We ask that images be 1200 pixels on the longest side at 72ppi so they can be appropriately viewed. Submissions may be e-mailed to mail@reciprocitystudio.com, or mailed to:

209 College Street
Third Floor East
Burlington, VT 05401

Please do not send original works. Submissions will not be returned! You may also submit a resume/CV, exhibition history, and any other relevant information you wish to include. Submissions are due by April 25. We aim to have the show hung and ready to go by May 20.

For this exhibit, we will donate a portion of proceeds to benefit Maher, an India-based nonprofit whose mission is to shelter and give support to women and children in rural areas of India.

About Gallery Exhibitions:
Reciprocity Studios hosts a limited number of gallery shows a year, with the gallery opening usually taking place during First Friday Art Walk.

We have open gallery hours weekly, with a sandwich board out on the College Street sidewalk and visible signage. Artists are responsible for delivering their work ready to hang with labels and pricing, as well as providing a cohesive artists statement. We take care of the hanging and gallery promotion in various media and publications. We take a 30% sales commission from works sold through the gallery.

Our Mission:
Reciprocity Studio is a photography and multimedia space dedicated to showcasing and sharing photographic works with Burlington, Vermont and the photography community at large.

Functioning as a gallery, lecture hall, photo studio and workshop space, our mission is to bring a dialogue about photography to the fore and showcase works from local and international photographers. In addition to gallery functions, we offer cutting edge workshops, networking opportunities for creatives, and lectures by visiting artists and photography professionals.
