Need advice on Erbil, Iraq

Does anybody know how the situation is in Erbil, Iraq at the moment? Is it possible to work there? I am getting very different (and confusing) answers to my questions on the safety in the northern part of Iraq. Any news – good or bad – is highly welcome.

Also – any fixer/translator suggestions and phonenumbers will be appreciated.
