Never mind the bollocks

summer of 1978, i spent 6 weeks in England with my aunt….13 years old….forever changed my life….
first time i saw spiked, colored hair and hairpins in cheeks/jeans and listen to some records in a london record shop, things would never be the same again…
pistols, fall, clash, buzzcocks, blackflag, ramones, darby crash, etc etc etc…
thanks….
:)))
my son and i have driven mrs. black crazy listening to the Ramones together ;)))))))

Englands Dreaming is a flawed yet jolly good book on punk as is Please Kill Me….
|
really great that was… but what’s up with no photographer credits?
went to a friends house after school one day, she said, ‘you’ve got to hear this” and played london calling on a little kiddie box record player… i was blown away. changed my life forever.

all those pictures are from when punk went mainstream anyway theres the second version of the clash for gawdsakes. looks like someone just typed ‘punk’ into a search engine what a load of badly researched crap
|
there’s a cool documentary about the pistols called “the filth and the fury”, reccomend it

Ah. Memories.
The Sex Pistols at the 100 Club. The Clash before they were The Clash. Billy Idol (with Generation X) supporting The Ramones at the Rainbow Theater. Suzy & The Banshees at The Nashville Rooms. Being threatened by a very drunk/high Sid Vicious at a party.
I loved the 70’s…
