Nevil Mountford began his photography with photo agency Images Sans Frontieres in 1994. After working with internationally respected photo agencies, Network and NB Pictures, he formed Picture People in 2004. The Initial project in Bam after the earthquake has continued each year. Since then he has developed participatory photo projects alongside several NGOs, including, Merlin (UK), Support to Life (Turkey) and Terre des Hommes (Switzerland) in locations such as Sri Lanka, Western Sahara, Kashmirand Istanbul, as well as continuing the Bam Project each year. Nevil has organized exhibitions for all the projects both in the UK and in the country of origin. He works alongside professionals in various fields of media to collaborate on ambitious and innovative participatory projects with a large range of multi media – film, sound and online exhibits. He is also exploring the benefits of longitudinal projects that focus on rehabilitation and healing after extraordinary disaster. Nevil also works as a practical consultant and a producer for international NGOs and cultural organizations, in creative projects that are part of their psycho-social programs. He continues to make photos and films, as part of the projects he works on. He is based in Istanbul, when not in the field. He is currently in Beirut, Lebanon.
