New Monograph: I Viaggi di Tiziano Terzani

I’d like to announce a new monograph book:
I Viaggi di Tiziano Terzani

This book, which features 180 photographs
from 19 countries by James Whitlow Delano,
is a collaboration between family and friends
of Tiziano Terzani: Angela Terzani Staube,
Folco Terzani, Grazia Neri, Renzo Guidieri;
and the photographer. Ms. Terzani Staube
has written an introduction which both
reflects on her late husband’s life and
insightful writing but also sets the context
for the project.

Before his passing in 2004, iconic Italian
foreign correspondent, Tiziano Terzani
reported on Asia and Russia for almost
four decades, illuminating the peoples,
the culture and major events in this
diverse region. The photographs describe
our parallel journeys through a part of the
world that drew both of us in and never
released either of us from its grip.

I Viaggi begins in Southeast Asia and then
takes in Asia, over the course of a decade
and a half, from Afghanistan to Mongolia,
Tokyo all the way across Eurasia to Moscow
and on to Terzani’s Shambhala deep in the
mountains of Tuscany back in the heart of
Italy.

what a wonderful monograph this must be!....honoring an unusually interesting man. will it be published in english as well? mr. terzani also wrote the delightful “a fortune teller told me” which influenced me (and others) a lot. good luck with the monograph.

Dear Tewfic,

Yes, Terzani was a remarkable and charismatic
man. Did you know him?

At this point, it is only published in Italian.

Best,

James.

hi James,

no, i didn’t know him but his ‘fortune-teller’ book (i read it translated in english) is really wonderful…whimsical and profound at the same time.

i hope your monograph does well.

best,

t.
