new web launch!

after 4 years of design, re-design, edit and re-edit my stuff I just decided to delegate and ask someone to JUST DO IT! and I have to admit it´s pretty easy to have someone to blame ;-)

here it is!
thanks for the feedback…if any.

Cristina, There’s a problem w/your site, I am using Safari, all I got was a series of errors and the same first photo again and again when I clicked on the links both in the Spanish and English versions. Shame would have liked to see something.

yes cristina, I tried to open your site but it does not load. I clicked on to the features, but the only thing I get is the first picture. (Then links page works though)

Christina, I love this design of the website; the navigation is beautifully simple and effective, you can navigate to any other page in one click. awesome! The webdesign stays out of the way as the pictures get all of the attention. The pictures are generously sized and look great on the screen. (btw, excellent photography!)

My only suggestions is that the loading bar is a bit too small, I didn’t notice it first and thought the links were broken. Also, the + and – navigation icons are a bit obtuse and I wasn’t sure of their function when I saw them. At first,I thought it was a zoom button and not a “next” and “previous” buttons. Also, they sometimes disappear with images that are white or very light. a black or gray stroke around the symbols would do wonders for legibility.

I’ll echo other comments saying that it is a bit buggy in Safari. it does work, but not all of the time. If the flash was built in FlashCS3, try switching from actionscript3.0 to actionscript2.0. that might work.

I also took a peek at the sourcecode, I think it needs a little bit of work on the keywords; As it is, the only thing a searchbot would see is the keywords, since it is a flash based site and the only things listed is:

Cristina de Middel PHOTOGRAPHY fotografia Alicante

I’d suggest using an expanded set of keywords; every single possible adjective that could describe your photography would be a good start.

I’d say that the site is a job well done to whomever did it for you and you should be happy with their work. It looks beautiful!

Ad Libitum and Civil Profanation is great stuff! Depressing but brings stories to life.

Waw! I´ve been out of lightstalkers for a while and it was a great suprise to see all these wise advice and suggestions about the site. Thanks verybody…I take note and will transmit to the web designer to check and solve all these technical problems if they still exist. I use Safari myself to navigate and haven´t had problems with the site, but will try to fix that up.
Patrick, concerning the keywords, you´re absolutely right…It´s time to expand!!!
Ty, glad you liked these 2 sections, these are my favourites too as the take me away from the daily-lazy work at the newspaper. Personal projects that I wish someday will represent the biggest part of my work…hopefuly!
Thanks again for your time and interest,
Cheers,
cristina
