Nikon 2.8-24 mm or Sigma 1.8-24mm

Hello,

More or less decide to purchase a Nikon D200, now I still have to decide if I want to buy a Nikon 2.8 24mm or Sigma 1.8-24mm, Does anybody have experience with one or both of these lenses.

Thanx for the information,

Pascal

Peter – I have neither but I do have a manual focus 24 f2. None of those new fangled AF lenses are that fast. The 24 f2 AIS works in a aperture priorty mode on the D200 even though the aperture doesn’t show in the viewfinder. I found mine on the cheap. Might be worth a shot.

Well I used my Nikon AF24mm f/2.8 as my main lens for years and can tell you that it’s superb. The Sigma is neither as sharp or as well built.
