Etnofoco is a partnership between Olivier Boëls – photographer – and Lena Tosta – anthropologist.
Etnofoco offers exhibitions, interactive seminars, courses, and publications nuanced by anthropological research and photographic sensibility but accessible to a non-specialized public. Our work merges critical and artistic perspectives to share experiences on interculturality, social themes and contemporary issues.
All the stages of production – from fieldwork to editing – are joint efforts to promote interchange between the focused cultural group, our public and ourselves. We would like our work to inspire cross-cultural learning, to light both the sentiment of empathy for harmonic cosmologies and a non-conformist attitude towards oppressive relations.
