you might try SimpleViewer to make your website – http://www.airtightinteractive.com/simpleviewer/
but you still need to buy your own domain and the web space

hope you are having fun in Mexico!

Gallery is a very robust PHP application that generates all the html so you don’t have to.

Some hosting services; like godaddy.com, have Gallery built in. Shop around, its pretty popular, most hosting services will offer Gallery with little or no extra cost.

Try this. It’s for phtoblogging, but you can structure the html and css any way you like:

Here’s what I did with template modification”
http://blueskystudio.visualblogging.com

I run my main sites from my own server, built myself, but my-expressions.com could be an option for you or anyone else. You could upload images to it from any computer, over the Internet, so it would be versatile. It’s not free, but at around $3 per month, it’s pretty close!

Hi Blue,

I am getting the following error as I tried to access your site.

------------—-
Software error:

Can’t call method “prepare” on an undefined value at Expressions/DAO.pm line 43.

For help, please send mail to the webmaster (hostmaster@my-expressions.com), giving this error message and the time and date of the error.

Hi Santanu. No worries. It’s not just mine, it’s all the photoblogs at my-expressions. There seems to have been a crash on the My-Expressions server. Which is disappointing, as I have used them for a couple of years now, with no problems. Not a good advert for them though! Check again later.

This is why I host my own accounts and sites, and build them for other people. Because reliability is a key issue! My photoblog is just a little something I like to keep running, as I love the simplicity of it [when it works : )]

edit: they’ve got all the my-expressions photoblogs up and running again now.

To Nicola…also, you might like to check out PixelPost:

More about how PixelPost works:

Some PixelPost free templates:
http://www.pixelpost.org/extend/templates/

It’s open source, photoblogging and web folio building software. If you get your own hosting, or have it already, then it could be ideal for you. If you’re handy with a bit of code. Check out this template, which is free:

same template, used by another photographer here:

Sure we can get you sorted with some of this stuff!

Despite being pretty handy with HTML and PHP, I’ve taken a liking to RapidWeaver.

It’s “easy” enough that you can use the templates and features out of the box without really knowing anything but the most basic of basics, but it also allows you some control over the code, so that the little one might know can be used to full effect.

EDIT: Oops; I missed the ‘Free’ part. RapidWeaver is not free. ~$70USD
