Miller Street Soiree began in 2005 when a group of documentary and street photographers got together to hold a one night exhibition of their work in a backyard in Sydney’s inner western suburbs. The first event attracted one hundred people and from this Miller Street Soiree #2 was born. The second event, held in 2006, attracted a crowd of over two hundred people and exhibited numerous Australian documentary and street photographers personal work, including Anthony Browell, Dean Sewell, Roger Scott, Tanya Lake, Andrew Quilty, Jon Reid and Phil Quirk. The reasoning behind Miller Street Soiree was to hold a fun and engaging event that enabled photographers to showcase their new personal work, and existing bodies of work that may or may not have been previously published.
