ONE WORLD human rights documentary film festival - SUBMISSIONS DEADLINE

One World festival invites film makers to submit their documentary films and videos!


The 8th One World Human Rights International Documentary Film Festival will take place from 2 – 9 March 2006 in Prague, Czech Republic.


The submission deadline is November 1st 2005. We kindly ask you to send your entries as soon as possible.


The selection results will be announced no later than February 1st 2006. The festival will inform all entrants by email, fax or letter.


Films can be selected for the Main Competition, Right to Know Competition, Short Forms Competition and non-competitive thematic categories.


Submission rules:


  • The festival accepts short and feature length documentary films and short animation films with human-rights themes.
  • Only films completed after January 2005 can be considered for the competitive program.
  • If you would like to submit your film, please fill in the entry form and post us a preview cassette (Pal VHS or DVD format). The online entry form is sufficient and you do not need to resend a hardcopy with the tape. However, only submissions containing both completed entry form and preview tape or DVD will be accepted.
  • Press cuttings and any additional information are welcomed but not obligatory.
  • Before signing the entry form please read carefully the festival rules and regulations.By signing the entry form and sending the requested material you also agree with the festival rules and regulations.
  • Please send all material to: One World / People in Need, Sokolska 18, Praha 2, 120 00, Czech Republic.
  • When sending a VHS or DVD to the festival, please always specify: for non-commercial use.
  • The submission deadline is November 1st 2005.
  • Due to the large number of submissions, preview copies will not be returned.
  • In case your film is selected we accept the following screening formats: 35mm, 16mm, Beta SP Pal, DVCam, Mini DV, DVD. We do not screen Digibeta and NTSC formats! For further info about the film selection please read rules and regulations.

this is a great festival, so if you’re in the area, go and chek it out…



frantisek, do you know if there’s a chance of obtaining a copy of a movie they screened about two years ago? do they have an archive or do you know someone who got access to all that?

Hi Luke, yes to both questions :) I know the people well, and at the festival there are about ten booths with videos and computers so you can view the whole archive… Sending a copy would be probably a bit difficult, because of © and such things… :(  But I could try. What film interested you? Or if it’s a bland news season in March next year, you can come and see it here :)
