Sounds like a joke to me, pay them $200 bucks for somebody to tell you what to shoot and what to do better to find your own “self expression

News University courses look great, and I didn’t have any problem to enroll. Thanks for the great tip! Anybody knows other ressources on the web to learn about photojournalism / impact of the image / telling stories with images? Thanks, Lucas

Thanks, for someone exploring the world of photojournalism for the first time (me), these programs offer me a good opportunity and place to learn on my schedule and in my current location. Thanks again, TK

I have just completed an online course offered by the Compelling Image and led by David Bathgate. I found the course challenging and very rewarding. The projects, guidance and assignments forced me to get out of my comfort zone and play; learning to color outside the lines. The image critiques and suggestions offered by David were also very insightful, creative and professional. One of my concerns with taking an online course was timely feedback and responses to my questions or concerns. I can honestly say the communications between student and teacher far exceeded my expectations. All inquires were answered with 24 hours and assignments were critiqued within 48 hours of submission. Personally, I plan to continue participating in their programs because it meets my needs and offers me real world and real time experiences that are hard to find in a remote location such as the deserts of Kuwait.

TK – which site did you go to for that class. Cost?

Echoing what TK wrote, I had a very positive and fruitful experience with The Compelling Image. David Bathgate’s course on Photo Style is very, very good. David is great to deal with, insightful, and knowledgeable; his feedback honest, detailed, and very specific. I wouldn’t hesitate recommending it to anyone.

i have also tried the news u courses and liked them though wondered what the motivation was for the parent organization? Anyone have an idea?
