Pakistan visa / onward travel question

Can anyone comment on the ease of getting your journo visa extended while in Pakistan. I am dealing with the Pak embassy in Washington, DC and they are only handing out visas for 2 weeks for the elections.

Also, any tips for cheap airlines connecting Pakistan with China and/or Indonesia? (Gotta get in a little post-election R&R)

to my expereince from different friends visiting Pakistan, it is almost impossible to get your Journalistic Visa extended inside Pakistan, unless you are not working with CNN or BBC or like any other big news/photo agency.

Try to get a longer visa from Washington, thats the possible thing which you could do there, find some one from Pakistani community there in Washington and get him involved for getting a longer visa, thats the easiest sollution.

China Southern Airlines fly 3 times a week from Islamabad to Urunqi in western china where you can get connection to Beijing or Hong Kong for easy onward travel. I believe PIA also fly the same route.
