A respected publisher from Bombay (Mumbai) is bringing out a coffee table book along with the Maharashtra govt, on the 50th anniversary of the creation of the Indian state. We need images for this.

This is my request to all Lightstalkers, and specifically from Maharashtra, who would have good, high-quality, images of the State and of Bombay.

At the moment, I am looking for cover images that strongly convey a Maharashtrian sensibility – of culture, dress, arts, geography, monuments etc – with no faces or figures prominently visible. Pics should ideally be slightly abstract and strong on theme, composition and freshness.

If you would like to be featured in the book or considered for the cover, please share some of your low-res images only – about a working size of 1024×768 in 150dpi (small watermarks no problem), including your name and location. You can mail me at parikshitrao@ymail.com.

Selected images will definitely be compensated upon usage, and payment terms will be discussed in private. If you have images and need further details, please email.

The book is scheduled to be quite heavy on text, and so we also need a lot of wonderful images, showing the transition and highlights of the STATE from the 60s to the present day also.

If you can email me rather than PM, I can send across a list of featuring topics to make image selection easier. But right now, im hunting wildly for cover options!
