Any neighborhood spots you can recommend? restaurants, falafel stands, wine bars, bakeries, secret places, bars?
PM me if you don’t want to mention them in the open! ;)

A great North African Berber Restaurant L’homme Bleu on Rue Jean Pierre Timbaud they have traditional Tagine. Not exactly hidden but well worth eating there.

Damn – from the headline, I thought you were going to show us a picture of Paris, the disgraced heiress, eating and drinking. Life just isn’t complete without pictures of Paris, eating, drinking – and flashing her naughty bits.

the 10th arrondissement is full of indian restaurants, most of them quite good and time ago quite cheap also. the 11th, in the streets around Jean Pierre Timbaud, you’ll find arabs restaurants, like recomends you Angela.
just down Montmatre you can find La Choppe wich is a bar where every Friday night they invite to a very good CousCous for only ordering drinks. right now i don’t know the exact address but i’ll find it and tell you.
here i let you a link that some friends told me they liked it… well it’s in spanish, if you need help let me know. http://www.ciudadluz.net/
the docks of Canal Saint Martin, if it’s a sunny day can be enjoyable…
within the 11th and 20th arrondissement, there were a lot of squats before. now i couldn’t tell you if they’re still alive… another link for the squats and special artist places… http://www.geocities.com/elmodusoperandi/squart.html
if you need info about night life and photography and art places, let me know.
right now i can remember the Palais de Tokyo, The Foundation Cartier are two major places, you can’t go and not have a walk there.
finally, a good place to go to listen to world music is The Divan du monde, 10th arrondissement.
PM me if anything, ok? cheers

Phil,
I spent only one cold afternoon in Paris, so I think it is important to find a good place to fortify yourself.
I just saw a promotion from Oebb for a trip to Paris and I thought of your thread. I thought to myself it would be nice to take advantage of such a thing, and then remembered my cold March afternoon in Paris a few years ago. It had snowed the night before. As a result my flight from Venice by Alitalia got delayed and I did not make an Air France flight back to the US. That is how I got a free overnight accommodation in Paris from Alitalia.
The hotel was so crowded that I did not get my free dinner until late at night.
