Patrick Brown has been based in Thailand since 1999. His photographic forays along the rugged Thai-Burma border sparked an enduring fascination with the jungles of Asia and the events and issues surrounding them. He is currently working on a book about the pan-Asian trafficking of endangered wildlife, journeying from the jungles of Assam to the brothels of Ho Chi Minh City. In 2003 he was a nominee for the prestigious Worldpress Joop Swart Masterclass in Amsterdam. His images have appeared in Time, Der Spiegel, Independent, The Observer, Mother Jones, Foto 8, and other magazines and newspapers worldwide. He has been awarded a World Press Photo in 2005, 2005 Picture of the Year International, 2005 3p Award and Days Japan award, for his project on Wildlife trade in Asia. Patrick’s work has been screened at Reportage photo festival in Sydney and Visa Pour L’Image at Perpignan, his work is also in numerous international collections, including the Holmes a Court collection and The Photography Gallery of Western Australia collection. He is represented by Panos.
