Perpignan-Paris?
|
Is anyone planning on driving to Paris on monday or tuesday after the festival? I’m considering options. If more people are interested maybe a rental car could be an alternative too.

You’d be better off taking a train.

chris;
i am taking the train from paris after flying from stockholm. tickets are around Euro 130 return, which i suspect is cheaper than driving unless its a large group. with gas prices the way they are :)

another option i was thinking in, is going till girona (catalunya-spain) wich is around 2h from perpignan, by train and have a plane to paris with this cheap companies like ryanair or something.
maybe less direct but probably cheaper.
actually this plane does not arrive in Paris itself but Beauvais, where there is a one hour bus to paris.
i’m seeing right now a flight for 18 euros… maybe it worths the larger journey

Paris Perpignan will cost roughly 80 euros in gas by taking the cheap route and 10 to 11 hrs travel time. Add another 47 euros in tolls if you want to take the hwy and save 3hrs in travel time.
Laetitia, Perp to Girona is 29-35 euros, so I seriously doubt that going it will be cheaper once you’ve paid for taxes on Ryan Air, connections between airports/stations, etc…
What would be great is a bus line between Girona and Perp for 5 euros:

well Olivier, i did not thought it would cost around 30 euros from perp to gerone, is this price by train?
i did not know either this bus, which is a very good price and way shorter than taking trains, because by train at the border there will always be a long while to wait for connections between france and spain. no french train crosses the border, and vice versa.
ok, then i just checked the other part which is beauvais to paris by bus (that leads to porte de chaillot) and it’s 13 euros.
so i still think it cheaper this way 18+13+35= 66 euros from perpignan to paris.
and if it is with the 5 euros bus, then cheaper…
anyway, i didn’t want to argue, just i was in this same kind of situation, i want to go both to perpignan and paris and know sncf so much to know this is not the way i would go.
so i also thought in traveling maybe with ryan air, since i won´t be in a hurry.

Hi all, there is a new low-cost bus service from Girona airport to Perpignan centre. It takes 85 mins, 6 times a day and tickets start at only €5 each way. You can book online at www.frogbus.com

A one way ticket on Monday 15 September from Perpignan to Paris is 60.10 Euros. You travel on a regular train to Narbonne (7h21) and then a TGV to Gare De Lyon with a total travel time of under 5.5 hours. You can book on-line at www.voyages-sncf.com.

Via Michelin calculates that driving from Perp to Par will cost you 125 Euros for petrol & tolls and take longer than the train ride.
