Hi people,
Planning a trip to Colombo and up north for next week, and need recentm credible advice on tourist vs journalist visa. From what I hear journalist visas are impossible to get within the time frame we have availiable. What are the tourist visa restrictions and how careful does one need to be. Travelled extensively in the region before on tourist visas and never had problems, but hear authorities in colombo are tightening the screw.

How difficult is it to get up to Jaffna these days – we may be able to get escort with an NGO – I read there is a flight there and people fly in with no problems, but that was a year ago – is it still the case?

Finally what is a fair rate for a good fixer – I found one advertised on another thread here but he was 150 USD/day- a bit steep in my estimations.

Please if anyone can recommend one it would be greatly appreciated
