About

18 year old photography student in the U.S. Attending the School of Visual Arts beginning in August 2013. Currently working on Second Look; “Second Look is a series of portraits of inmates within the prison system. It does not attempt to prove or imply innocence; Second Look proposes a baseline of dignity and respect of which nearly all persons are eligible. The people shown in this work are shown without their crimes. This frees them from judgement, and tries to show their true souls.”

How to Approach an NGO/Company for Project Money?

I’m starting a series of portraits of inmates under the title Second Look. I’m trying to show how people are people, and how nearly everyone deserves a baseline of respect. I did my first shoot with loaned (for free) equipment from my schools photography dept; I will no longer have access to their gear as I’m transferring. How would I approach a company/ngo to sponsor me? Emailing a general “contact us” feels like a brick wall; better to know someone. I’d be looking for something in the range of $1500-7000 USD. Would I be better off with Kickstarter?
