Photo Blog

I’ve had a photo blog going for a few months now at ckpj.com/blog I was wondering if anyone had suggestion for the layout and/or content. I hope to have commenting on it at some point, but I don’t know how to get that working in html. Any other suggestions?? I’d love some feedback. Thanks.

Hey Cam,
You could gain a ton of functionality (archive, search function, rss, comments…) simply by switching over to wordpress (http://wordpress.org/). I would imagine you could have everything up and running (blog installed, posts moved, etc.) in a couple hours.

Rodrick, what is going on, man? Are you rich and famous yet? I’d love to hear what you’re up to. I’ve been tossing that idea around in my head. I really like being able to track the traffic on my blog with the rest of my website, but wordpress and blogspot would both not only give me better functionality, but also allow me to more easily update. What I’d really love is to get someone that knows programming to help me get a little commenting action going on. —-But for you…I’d really love it if you had a chance to look at the rest of my portfolio…it’s been awhile since I’ve had a hardcore Western-style critique. It’s at ckpj.com, I’m glad to hear you’re still around…and shooting? Anyway, have a good one, and I’ll definitely look at wordpress, I’ve only looked into blogspot. Catch ya later. ~Cam

Rich? Famous?? I didn’t know you could have all that and be a PJ too. Ha!
I guess I’ll have to swing on over to your site to see how all that rich and famous stuff works…
As far a blogs, the cool thing about WP is that you host it yourself, so tracking visitors is a breeze. And most web hosts have a little install tool dealio for Wordpress that does all the hard work for you (you can have it installed and running in about ten minutes). Find a template that suits you, move your existing posts, and bam- you’re all set.
Of course you can easily track a Blogspot blog too, but you are a bit limited with how your blog looks (which would be pretty much just like everyone elses).
Of course, you will NEVER run out of space with Blogspot, as it’s owned by the kids over at Google…

Right on, I’m going to get on the Wordpress thing tonight. I haven’t quite achieve fame or wealth…I mean, I’m spiritually wealthy. Right? That’s what this job does, makes you spiritually wealthy and gives a life rich with experiences. I also might have gotten to the infamous stage of the game. Thanks for the help. Can’t wait to hear your critique. ~Cam
