Hi Jasmin, can I get in the loop as well?

Agreed, the last I heard was from Jasmin 10/30 saying that she had contacted Luiza from IRAF couple weeks prior who told her that they have some difficulties with sponsors ..
anything new Jasmin or Luiza?
|
Erica… it looks like we got a prize without prize ;-)
|
Just heard from Luiza – who was a volunteer for the contest..I’ll send you a PM Aga, or anyone else who needs info. Luiza says sorry for her part in the matter, and hopefully things will still come through.

:) thanks erica for posting this.

@Erica: Jasmin is he, not she :D
|
Does anybody know what happened to this contest and it’s prizes????
|
|
|
Actually, I do know..or at least think I know..just this week I contacted them, as the festival is going strong..here is the response, with a couple of lines taken out because there is some finger pointing at blame with a name and I know nothing about the validity of that and don’t want to add to it..
Hello Erica,
First I would like to apologize on behalf of my collegues and myself for this unpleasant situation, that was unfortunately projected over you, the winners. The resons for this situations were many and even though partly we were ourselves “victims” if I can say so, (deleted) And above all, some financial issues that we experienced after the festival due to low support we received from the state for a poject involving gypsyes( even though when we announced the contest, we had a prromise from a state agency that they will support the prizes(.
Anyhow, we assume all these unfortunate events, as organizers and it is too late to declaim others.
We finnaly managed to gather the money for the prizes in July, this year and sent the prizes to the winners at the beginning of August. Some packages, especially from foreign countries came back. We sent them to the adresses we received from (deleted). But probably some are npt correct or some have changes, due to our delays.
I have checked today and your package is one of them. The pizes were given in photo equipment. We sent in July a mail to all winners asking them to choose the equipment they would like to have in the amount winned. We only received a few answers. Thus, for the ones that did not chose we asked the photo company to pick something, so we can deliver them and avoid other delays. I see in the winning list that for you, the choise was
(deleted)
I kindly ask you to excuse our mistakes and understand that they were made, not in bad faith, but due to lack of support. I will gladly answer any further question or give more explinations and supporting documents if needed.
Please provide me with a valid, as compleet as possible adress tomorrow and I will sheep the prize myself tommorow by courier so I am sure it reaches you this time.
(and later..)
Many thanks for your kind understanding on the matter. I hope the package reaches you soon and you will enjoy your prize. Also, as I said, we feel very bad for the unpleasant issues that derived from this unfortunate situation and that it affected the persons with no fault whatsoever, the winners. We hope we can collaborate in the future with you and maybe compensate somehow for this incident. If you wish to develop a project and we can help in any ways, we will gladly do it. Also, we will be happy to exhibit some more of your pictures in the next edition of International Romani Art Festival.
All the best and good luck in your future projects. Also, I will be happy if you could confirm the receipt of the prize, when you receive the package, so I can take my worries away from it.
..So it is a bit odd that as neither my email or my mailing info changed I didn’t receive the request that is mentioned..but I am happy they seem to be trying to put things right. If anyone wants a contact email and name, PM me..will keep posted as to the arrival of my prize..
|
Thanks for the responses. Also heard back from one of the organizers, so hopefully things are back on track. Will have to wait and see.
|
Package from Romania arrived with my award..
|
Congratulations Erica from me in Romania!
|
hehe thanks..was just posting that it came because there was a lot of question as to whether they would honor the prizes, but they did…
