June No, the Mois de la Photo á Paris is usually Oct or Nov and Arles & Perpiganan are September

BUT here are a few photography places worth checking out in Paris.

The Maison Européenne de la Photo is located in the heart of the Marais and holds permanent and temporary exhibitions, conferences and films, as well as a library and video library. An absolute must for all photo lovers. 5, rue de Fourcy, 75004 Paris. Tel.: (33-1) 44 78 75 00. www.mep-fr.org

Photographic heritage Housed in Hôtel de Sully, this association looks after the prestigious photography collection belonging to the State and schedules major exhibitions all year round. 62, rue Saint-Antoine, 75004 Paris. Tel.: (33-1) 42 74 47 75.

The Centre National de la Photographie (CNP) In the magnificent Hôtel Salomon-de-Rothschild, the CNP puts on exhibitions of works by great masters, as well as by young experimental artists, organises conferences, publishes a free quarterly journal and co-produces an audiovisual series “Contacts” about famous photographers.

Jeu de Paume gallery http://www.jeudepaume.org – dedicated to photography and the photographic image. 11, rue Berryer, 75008 Paris. Tel.: (33-1) 53 76 12 31.

There is a photo festival in Lille from May 10th till June 17th.
Transphotographiques, Lille.
It is supposed to be a good festival.
The theme this year is photography and cinema, so I don’t know if you’re interested in that.

I saw there is a new event in Paris:
Le Premier Parcours Parisien de la Photographie.

and

June 14th -30th

The festival of Honfleur is in May.

There is a festival in Montpellier from June 2nd till June 10th.
(Boutographies 2007)
But I don’t know anyone who’s ever been there.

Then of course there is Arles, but it is in July (not in September!)

Of course most of those websites are in French (sighs), but maybe you can find some info on the web in English.
If you understand French (?) there is a useful website for all photo-related activities in France:
www.photographie.com

I hope this is of some use,

Have fun in France,
Cheers,

brigitte
