Photographers meeting in Delhi
in continuation to my last thread about copyrights in India, I want to organize a meeting of local and foreign photographers in Delhi. I would like some help on these fronts:
1. we will need a place to get together. maybe some local photographer who has a studio in Delhi and would like to help and facilitate his/her studio.
2. who would want to start a think tank and a smaller forum to discuss the issues we would like to bring up in this photographers meeting. anyone interested?
3. any photographer who is based in India/Delhi or coming here soon and would like to be on the mailing list and be informed about the progress we are hopefully going to make, please send your name and email address and i’ll keep you in the loop.
4. any new idea, suggestion for topic or anything else you think will help

Agree this is a great idea…we could meet in the Press Club of India or even the Women’s Press Club, both great places. I work with a 24hrs satellite channel as a news cameraman. Give me a buzz !

Hey Sephi, Sounds a good idea. I am delhi based professional photographer having a commercial studio & can provide you with a web based forum at www.lightzoneindia.com I have a big database of photographers & have been associated with photography insitutes too so getting them in the loop can be done by me which will provide a larger group to voice the opinion.

Thanks for the initiative! Its a much needed step forward for photographers in India.
If there’s anything I can do, please do let me know. I might not be of much help in organising since I am in Western/Central India, however I’d like to join in and learn more about copyrights and licensing.

Shame, would of loved to meet somemore lightstalkers but just left delhi, but calcutta around xmas for drinks would be good if anyones in that area of mother india.
