Piece on Josef Koudelka

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/europe/article3886309.ece

A good read and leaves me wondering about my life and what it is and if I could keep it as pared down as Koudelka. He’s distilled life into his photography and everything else is peripheral.

It IS a good read – thanks for the post, Fred.

I love Koudelka’s work, and admire his monk-like dedication to photography. I know I could never do the same, but I can emulate his personal ethic in which he shoots what he wants to and ignores the trends and cliches of photography. Of course having a unique and prodigious archive and books that regularly sell in the hundreds of dollars help him pursue photography in his own style. But thank heavens for such a creative mind and eye.

There is also a glimpse of him in the footage.
