Portable IPTC editor
|
I run Filezilla off an USB flashdrive to upload from internet cafes or computers other than mine, but sometimes have to change IPTC information on the fly before I do so – anybody knows a small app that would run off a USB key and allow me to change IPTC info?
Thanks!

Not sure how large the program expands to, but the setup files for both the Windoze and Mac versions of XNView are about 1.5MB. Another (better?) option is uploading to a service like Photoshelter and editing the IPTC online, then FTPing from there.

BTW, I am also looking for a lightweight way to update a blog (with pictures), check and write emails and send an occational picture to an FTP server (with IPTC info)... I know about pocket PC, but are these actualy usable? Any thoughts on the iPod Touch? Could this be used for this kind of thing?

The iPod touch won’t be of any use for this, Guido. At the moment at least (despite a great screen and good looks) it does far less than a Smart Phone or Pocket PC. The iPod Touch version of Safari won’t even read Flash or integrate Real Player…

Mmmm, I thought it wouldn’t. Any suggestions on pocket PC’s? Not too expensive… Sorry Olivier, for hijacking your thread…

There’s advice on the Pocket Phojo website concerning the best choices. There’s the Asus eePC as well which could cost you less than a decent Pocket PC. Maybe that’s your best bet for the use you describe.
