air purifiers

ok, I am allowing myself one more OCD/real-work-avoidance post.
anyone have suggestions for some kind of super-industrial strength air cleaning system? I have two monstrous hair-sprewing beasts in my place (I think they were cats when they were born) and a vast array of static-electricity generating computer gear that act as cat hair magnets. I think this is beyond bionaire or hepa.
help me.

What ever you decide upon do not consider shaveing.
That would just not be a pretty sight.

we actually did shave them a while ago. they looked pretty pissed off for a while, but they got over it, and it did help a bit.

You should definitely take measures to protect your gear — it’s not just the static electricity! Your desktop’s intake vents are like a vacuum cleaner, sucking up cat hair. Also, the cats are probably curling up for naps next to your warm, cozy CPU, which just amplifies the problem.
I’ve heard of people taping stuff over their intake vents, like used dryer sheets or pantyhose. The danger with stuff like that, though, is you might end up obstructing air flow to the interior of the case.
I’d go to a hardware store and ask about spun fiberglass air filters; you’ll probably be shown something intended for use with air conditioners, but you could try cutting it up and taping it over your intake vents. At the same time, you can try to “caulk” up any other open spaces in the case (eg, the CD tray) as much as possible.
Your portable gear (notebooks, etc) should be better sealed, but I’d hit them with compressed air now and then to prevent build-up.

I think that shaving of the cat(s) is the only way to rid the problem completly but… I have a cat that sleeps on one of my monitors all the time, god dam fur farmer!!! (not to metion he barfed on the monitor once, got right inside, nice smell let me tell you!!!!). Try the air cleaner at www. sharperimage.com, Ionic breeze, its amazing but not cheap. And it saved my computers from hair balls.

Have you seen these cat’s, they have severe weight issues and would not look good in a hair-cut, Anyways Catpower is What I say
|
ahh fuluber (fury blubber), not a pretty sight without the fur.
|
This is just the reason I always keep Teru’s head shaved.
