Akbar Ganji Iran's leading journalist on hunger strike

I received this as an email from a journalist friend in Iran, please read and forward if you can:
_____________________________________________________________

"I have become a symbol of justice in the face of
tyranny, my emaciated body exposing the contradictions
of a government where justice and tyranny have been
reversed,"

I can’t take this anymore… My season of "Ganji"
spamming has just started, and I appologize in
advance.

I’m attaching highlights of the story, and links to
full coverage.
Please take a few minutes to read, and take as long as
you want to forward these to as many people as you
can.

Highlights:
"Akbar Ganji is considered Iran’s leading
investigative journalist."
"Ganji is a journalist who was jailed after he wrote
articles linking senior officials to a string of
political assassinations in Iran."

"Ganji had been asked to write a brief apology to the
supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, and renounce two
of his pamphlets, but he had refused to do so."

"Ganji was jailed in 2001 but was granted temporary
leave on 29 May for health grounds. He was
re-imprisoned two weeks later and has been on hunger
strike ever since."

"Letter published in Mr Ganji’s name said Ayatollah
Khamenei (The Supreme Leader) would ultimately be
responsible for his death."
