Hi all—
before I forget…a few people have told me of rooms and apartments for rent or sublet.

there’s a pretty big 4-room railroad in bushwick for $1100. near the Morgan L stop or the JMZ. it’s next door to lightstalker Malin, so ask her for details.

Kat has a room she’s leaving in Greenpoint (norman and monitor). It’s spot in a 4-way shared loft, with canvas partitions (not proper walls).$500.

last a sublet, here’s the email I recieved from jason:

I have decided to travel to Brazil in August/September to
document traditional musicians in the Northeast, something
I have wanted to do for a long time. I’ve got a couple of
specific projects in mind, but I’m open to others…

I plan to go to Bahia, Pernambuco, Curitiba, and possibly
Manaus. Do you know anyone who is living in the area that I
could meet with when I am there or get in touch with before
I travel to get some local information?

Also, my subletter fell through, so…

I offer a truly great apartment sublet to the right person.
I have a 15×25 foot room with 12 foot ceilings, in a
beautiful 2BR in Cobble Hill (Bergen btwn Smith and Court),
complete with living/dining room, kitchen, all wood floors,
natural light all day, plus outdoor working garden
(tomatoes, basil, bell peppers) roof deck.

The room is air-conditioned, furnished with bed, two desks,
DSL internet access, Mac G5, it is perfect for home office,
you can use my things but don’t break anything please!

Rent is $1100. This includes utilities but it may be more
if you are going to use the Air-Con all the time.

I will be gone Aug 10-Sept 30 so would be looking to sublet
the place for then, I am somewhat flexible +/- 10 days if
need be, which means anywhere from 40-60 days of sublet. I
need the full amount in advance, plus a security deposit of
one month’s rent.

Most important is that the person must be clean, especially
in common areas, and respectful of roommate’s 9-5 status.
My roommate is a 30-year old Swiss female, works in
publishing, and very quiet and pleasant to be around.
Non-smoker female is preferred but not necessary. Someone
who wants to take care of tomato plants a plus!

I am not sending this to Craig’s List, only to friends,
since I have to trust someone with my apartment and my
roommate, so please think about who might be good for this
sublet.

I will be meeting with people this weekend and afterward.
