Assistant for Christopher Anderson

Before we get any ridiculous discussion about the exploitation of assistants, yes, there will be payment albeit badly (economic crisis, you know), and it is short term. But I need someone to help out in my studio during the next week to 10 days. You don’t need high end skills, but if you have appropriate working knowledge of a mac, photoshop, and how to use the subway it would be helpful. If you DO have some high end skills, please contact me also.
The most important qualifications are that you are self-motivated, eager to learn, and you can handle figuring things out and move quickly to get it done.
This MIGHT develop into something longer term if you are the situation is right. But for now it is just for a short time to help me finish a project.

There’s nothing ridiculous about paying your assistants Christopher, in fact, that would be the exact opposite of ridiculous.

What’s ridiculous is not paying your assistants, at all.

Show a little class next time before you try to frame a legitimate discussion as “ridiculous.”

It’s insulting to the community.

How’s that workin out for you, Pres. Dance Machine?

How’s what workin’ out for me? Being a dance machine? Great!

I happen to have a PDF of that “ridiculous” discussion in question, all 26+ pages of it.

Let me know if you’d like me to email a copy of it to you for posterity’s sake.

Hope you find a great assistant! =)

How can I email you to apply for this position (I am too new to lightstalker to send and email!). I have 3 years experience working as a photo editor for Wireimage and Getty Images and have been assisting for the past 2 years also. I just got my MFA in photo from Pratt last month. You can email me through my website at benhider.com

Thanks for the responses. I think I found someone. Please don’t take it personally if I don’t get back to you personally. If I had the time to respond to everyone, I wouldn’t need and assistant.Anyway, I will keep tabs on all who responded for the future as I do need extra people to help out from time to time. Good luck to all, CHris

HI
I’m currently living in New York and studying photojournalism. I know my way around the subway, have basic knowledge of Macs and know photoshop very well. I am very interested in your offer and promise to put in it my best effort.

Hi Kiana! Nice to hear from you. How are your pictures coming? If I teach a workshop next year in Toronto, I will insist that you be my assistant.
Thanks everyone. I have made note. Stay in touch with me, because it is sure I will need help in the future.
Am gonna shut this post down now.
Chris
