Bangkok workshop - WorkShopAsia

Hello everyone
Just to let you know the next WorkShopAsia photo workshop will be in Bangkok, Thailand, in the week of July 9-16 this year. We’re thrilled to say that Philip Jones Griffiths will be there once again as a guest tutor. We have not as yet posted new details on our website but will do so soon! In the meantime, please contact us directly at info@workshopasia.com if you’d like to register your interest. We expect the week to be demanding, with assignments in the city’s most chaotic and fascinating areas such as Chinatown, the Klong Toey slums and the Chao Phraya river.
A huge thanks to everyone who attended and supported the recent workshop in Luang Prabang and made it such a success, we had a great time and were ecstatic about the high standard of work produced and progress made. Well done to you all. We’ll be posting a newsletter and some images from Laos on our website soon.
All the best, Jack

Hi there, I would just like to pen down a few words in support of Jack, Philip, Steve, Abi and the entire WorkshopAsia team. I attended the last workshop held in Luang Prabang and had such a fantastic time and met a great bunch of people with whom I’ve now forged long term frienships. That said it was really hard work but I came away from the workshop feeling inspired and motivated by all the people around me, and also with a body of work that I’m very proud of. The highlight of the whole week for me though was being able to spend time with Philip. A truly inspirational man, who is actually a bit more than special. Thoroughly recommended…:-)

It’s great to see that Jack is planning on another workshop with Philip. I got to know him for the first time, and the one-on-one critique was truly valuable. We all had great fun, and the townspeople of Luang Prabang gave us great access. It is one great way to build new contacts and network with fellow photographers as well!!

Highly recommend Jack’s workshops ! Truely inspiring professional standards from all tutorial team as well as photographers attending. Hard work and good fun. Impossible in such immersion not to make substantial progress !

I also applaud the workshop. The critique was absolutely worthwhile. Each of the core contributing photographers were available for one-on-one critique sessions. Rather than being steered to producing a particular style of photography, participants received encouragement that advanced results without sacrificing their identity. It was very interesting to see Philip, Jack and Steve’s approach to producing a solid essay- between them they have vast experience but were constantly generous with an altogether less seasoned crew of participants.

Other participants themselves were an inspiration. Everyone who attended brought talent to the workshop and the progress made was clear. As Richard said, good friendships were formed and I looked forward to knowing the other attending photographers long in to the future.

Many thanks to Abi, Jack, Steve and Philip (it’s good news that you’ll be onboard for Bangkok).

I expect the workshop in Bangkok will be a roaring success- excellent venue. I just hope that I’ll have the opportunity to be a guest at the final screening of the weeks work.

I highly recommend going to the workshop. The Luang Prabang workshop was a success. It was interesting to see different works from the different participants and how each story evolves and unfolds as the workshop progresses. The workshop is more creative rather than technical, which for me has brought another dimension in my way of shooting especially with guys like Phillip, Jack and Steve guiding us through the process. I do hope to be there this July :)
