Body armor dilemma

Hi,
next week I am going to south-east of Afghanistan for 2 months and not sure if I should take my flack jacket with me or not, for the following two main reasons:

1) In the remote areas ‘locals’ might think I am just an intruder affiliated with the coalition forces
2) I will be trekking a lot, and the BA is too heavy…

Any suggestions?

Kash, some members of LS who would know about your dilemma may not be able to see your posting since now there is a filter that dictates which posts one can see when logged on (basically all posts from the list of contacts and the contacts of one’s contacts). I would suggest you PM (send a private message) to Teru Kuwayama who is very familiar with Afghanistan and to Zalmai who is also familiar and is originally from there. They can give you detailed info.<br/>
