Call for Entries: SLIDELUCK POTSHOW Detroit

Greetings Detroit!
Consider this your invitation to SLIDELUCK POTSHOW Detroit. What, may you ask, are we talking about? We are talking about a slideshow and we are talking about a potluck.

Slideluck Potshow is a non-profit (501c3 pending) arts organization that provides an opportunity for members of the arts and photography communities to gather around food, friends, and art for a night. This event, which happens thrice yearly in NYC, and in numerous other cities around the world, is about to launch in Motown!

Please join us for SLPS Detroit at the Contemporary Art Institute of Detroit’s Ladybug Gallery and Studios on January 31, 2008 for an unforgettable evening.

We will be featuring a slideshow of emerging and established Michigonian talent as well as artists from around the world. Past contributors to Slideluck Potshows include: The Guggenheim Foundation, Elliott Erwitt, Chris Jordan, Martin Schoeller, Alec Soth, Alistar Thain, Alex Majoli, Doug Menuez, Bruce Gilden, Robert Doisneau, Vincent Laforet and many others.

Submit your artwork for SLPS Detroit! We are currently seeking creative, thought-provoking submissions. Participants are encouraged to take creative risks, in terms of content and presentation. Submissions will be collected online in advance of the slideshow. Cutting-edge multimedia presentations are welcomed and all shows must be accompanied by music, commentary, or other audio surprises. Presentations are limited to five minutes or less. Please visit the Slideluck Potshow website for submission guidelines. The deadline for submissions is January 27, 2008.

The Contemporary Art Institute of Detroit is a community based non-profit organization. CAID fosters and promotes the essential link between contemporary arts and contemporary society through its exhibitions, performances, critical and public discourse and the funding of contemporary arts and art related activities.
