SUBMISSIONS OPEN FOR FRAMES OF MIND 2010: Bangalore Photography Club’s FIFTH annual photography exhibition!
THEME: Real India, no longer a euphemism!
A flickr search using India throws up 32 images on page 1. Most images are icons of India that were created several decades ago: The Taj Mahal, India Gate, heritage temples. There’s been a lot of progress since then yet symbols of India remain the same. Worse still are images of a begger, a naked saint, an old homeless man, a monkey, a camel and a cramped book store.
Our objective is simple: To refresh the collection of images that really depict India. If you have looked beyond the old image of India and have captured the visual character of India today, you must be hitting the Submit button right away!
It’s BPC’s fifth annual exhibition!. At Frames of Mind 2010 there is a lot more to look forward to than ever before. This time, it is not just a collection of 50 fabulous photographs oozing with the feeling of novelty, but many interesting guest speakers to meet and engaging activities for everyone. List of activities will be announced soon. Watch this space!
