Calling All Photojournalists

I’m launching a magazine and wanted to let you know this magazine will be a space for photojournalists to publish the stories your editors wont let you publish. Also if anyone has photos of the Philippines after the President Signed a Reproductive Bill That Was Debated For 13 Years Into Law, Burma’s Kachin ethnic group, Kachin rebels, Haiti, Mali, Tauregs, Crimes in Syria or Mali that they would allow me to use across all platforms in perpetuity please send them along for consideration. All photos will be sourced as requested by the photographer.

Will photographs be paid?

“All platforms in perpetuity…” Is this paid and if not why would anyone want to participate in this?

In the absence of further information, my advice: don’t.

“that they would allow me to use across all platforms in perpetuity” …
The term “allow” sort of answers your question. If it was supposed to be paid it would surely read “license”.
It seems to me that you get an idea if you follow the links to her sites…
I second DPC’s advice: don’t.

Could you send me an e-mail for the details, Sarah? Thanks

Hmmm…guess you must be busy, but seems like we could do with a bit more basic input from you here.

- such as are you paying for use of photos or not?

Mr. Obvious checking in. For those who want to contact Ms. Jones directly her eMail address is listed on her LS page. Just click on her name. That said I, like others perhaps, finds it frustrating that stuff gets posted here and then we never hear back from the original poster. Seriously, if you’re going to post here be willing to check back and answer questions.

Is it in perpetuity throughout the Universe or just planet Earth?

by Olivier Boulot | 28 Jan 2013 23:01 | Paris, France | | Report spam→
I would assume it’s for usage in this Universe and Universes yet to be discovered. It makes as much sense as the original proposal…

I had perpetuity once but an inoculation from my doctor took care of it.

Sarah – you sent me a personal email to my post – If you can’t answer my public post on this forum, there’s really no need for you to communicate with me in private.

In short there is no money. So if you want to give away your images for free, get in touch…

by Damaso Reyes | 02 Feb 2013 12:02 | Barcelona, Spain | | Report spam→
It’s even worse than that: you’ll give your images for free, and you’ll be giving them to build someone else’s career. Look at the site, there’s her name all over the place, her picture all over the place. It’s all about building her brand, so if you want your pictures to serve that purpose, go ahead.
