Mark your calendars for Thursday, 21 November.
That’s the day The Cambodian Photography Project will be putting on an exhibition of photographs taken by children at Sunrise Children’s Village orphanages in Cambodia.
The free event, from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., will be at Gallery del Grotto, Sports Basement Bryant, 1590 Bryant St., in San Francisco.
Some of you may remember my previous post about our efforts to get the project underway. I’m happy to report that the project took place this past summer at orphanages in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap.
The exhibit at Gallery del Grotto inside Sports Basement’s Bryant Street location at the corner of 15th and Bryant will feature dozens of colorful images as well as portraits and stories about the young photographers and their home, Sunrise Children’s Village. There will also be music, wine and hors d’oeuvres as well as 20 percent off shopping at Sports Basement during the event.
The images shot by the children will be for sale, with all proceeds donated to Sunrise Children’s Villages. All purchases are fully tax deductible.
Hope to see you there. If you want more information about the project, visit The Cambodian Photography Project’s Facebook page or the project‘s website at www.thecambodianphotographyproject.com.
