Capture Software Suggestions
|
Hello,
I need to do a several month long project on location and would like to shoot tethered to a MacBook Pro. Does anyone have any suggestions on capture software? I have a Nikon D70 and MacBook Pro. I have used Capture One software by Phase One ($500) and really liked it but I know there are less expensive options like Nikon’s Capture NX ($130) although I’ve never used it before.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Nikon Capture. You can download a free trial at the Nikon website.

Matt I have had a lot of problems with Capture NX and definitely don’t reccommend it. It has lots of bugs and has destroyed my old work flow. I have heard similar complaints elsewhere. Nikon totally blew it with this mandatory upgrade for its new cameras.
The old Capture software was fine and will work with the D70 but not the D80 or D2Xs. I have heard good things about Phase One, if you like it stick with it.

Thank Guys!
Roger, I’ve heard the same things about the Nikon software. I guess I’m just going to have to break down and spend the 500 bucks for the good stuff unless anyone else has any other ideas. Thanks again guys!
