A selection of photographs from the book, curated by Catherine Dean and MaryAnn Camilleri will be exhibited from May 5-June 26, 2006 at the Gladstone Hotel, 3rd and 4th floors.

Carte Blanche is a compendium of Canadian photographers, slated for release in April of 2006. A jury of arts professionals nationwide have selected the best currently practicing here in Canada. Carte Blanche is the first book of this type ever in Canada and will bring international recognition to Canada, the arts community and its artists.

Donald…are you associated with Magenta?…were you at the show last year at Lennox?…wonder if we met?…we covered the show last year for our (now defunct) photog rag ArtPost and worked with MaryAnn (well my wife coordinated with her for the coverage)…although we can’t make it to the Gladstone tonight (wednesday is Man’s night in my house: read: time with my son)…we’ll see the show for sure…cheers, bob

Hey Bob – thanks for the congrats, it’ll be interesting, I have no idea what they chose for the exhibit! I’ll also be in the magazine that they’re launching too, I think it comes out in the summer as a supplement to the Globe. I also think that there’s another launch party May 5, but I’m not 100% positive. When I know more I’ll post you. And I’m surprised we haven’t met yet…

ok, keep me posted…ive told my wife about the show and we’ll definitely see it (if not today) than after May 1st…and I think Magenta is launching the book in November…last year (the inauguaral edition) was wonderful and met alot of nice and terrific young photographers…Jennifer Long (who curated the show and chaired the selection) is friends of some of our friends, so we all met last year at the Lennox show, well, toronto is small: so, im sure we’ll meet up at somepoint during Contact :))…btw, love the Kiev work very much!…cheers, bob

Donald! :))…It was great to meet and speak with you last night! :))…sorry, we couldnt stay and have a drink, but hell, it was our “date night”…we enjoyed chatting and Marina and I are looking forward to seeing the pic at the Magenta Exhibition next week :))…also, believe me, your russian’s decent (as is your Novgorod accent ;))) )….Congrats again on the award (u should be proud and Im thrilled an LS member was chosen ;)) )…I’ll send you a note next week when I know if the shindig at our place will be before the 18th of May (my birthday) or not…if not, i’ll contact you in June when you return from Kiev to have you over for "russian toast practice!: …btw, i might be going to Toni Hackensfield’s opening tonight (not sure, have to talk to marina)…anyway…running to teach…Cheers Donald…bob
