Images must be so sized that their longest side is at least 1,600 pixels (vertical and horizontal) and each image must be saved as a separate JPEG with Photoshop image quality setting on 7 (“high”). Image resolution must be set to 72 dpi or higher. An embedded RGB color profile or grayscale must be used (do not use CMYK).
File names must combine an item number (1, 2, 3, etc.) and a category code. Files which together form a story must include an alphabetic code to indicate image sequence (A to L). The file name must not exceed 8 characters.

-picture stories betw 2-12 shots (no more than 12, strict)
-single frame entries (no composite photos or multiple exposures)

Best of Photojournalism Contest 2005
This year’s updated rules and guidelines are now posted online for both BOP Still and BOPTV divisions. “How to Enter” information is included for all divisions of the contests.
NPPA will begin accepting entries for both BOP and BOPTV on January 3rd, 2005.
The online registration form will be active on December 13, 2004.

Some new categories in the Contest this year focus on work from the 2004 election cycle and the Summer Olympic Games in Athens.
So, get a jump start on the entry process! Read the rules, prepare your images, register after Dec 13, and begin sending entries after Jan 3rd.
