Today I had a major heart attack on location!! Thank god for PhotoRescue and my laptop.

Just dumped my second card of the all day shoot, poped in the first card re-formated and started shooting again. I was checking every few shots to make sure everything was good, no problems, until... I finished that card and started another. Well my assisant went to DL and add the images to the working folder on the laptop and next thing I know I get that "oh shit look!". Turns out the card had the same file names of the images he had just downloaded, so I thought I gave the wrong card (happens time to time when I work with a lot of cards) so gave him the other three in my pocket. Well the new files weren't there! So I stoped and took over, poped in the "card" that should have the new files and the only visible image files were the same as the ones in the folder already but one MAJOR difference, the files info was 0kbs. I ahve never had this happen, this camera has never let me down in the 5 years of shooting with it. So I felt that sinking feeling of my stomach hitting my toes, and what I was shooting was not something you can reshoot, being a photo documentary. So I reached for the trustly PhotoMechanic and recoverd all but one file of the 103 that were on the card, and had a big ass smile on my face! So it was a happy ending but I want to know if anyone in LS land has had the same problem.

Oh ya this card was the newest of the bunch, maybe 6 months old so its had a few thousand images on it but not the usage of the other cards. And its th efirst genration 80x ( the ones that turned out not to be really 80x). So tonight I really thinking of going with the Sandisk Extreme 3 cards.

Cheers!
