D200 and D2X output
|
Has anyone experience with both the Nikon D200 and D2X, particularly with larger print sizes? (16×20 to 17×22) How much image quailty difference is there between the two, 10MP vs 12MP? Part of why I am interested is that I have some architectural assignments coming up and correcting keystoning in Photoshop throws away pixels. And I may want to print 20X30s of new work for my gallery. (I shooting D70s now)
Thanks

Very little difference. In fact at the higher iso’s the D200 images look better. You might get more colour fringes on a D200 image though-easily dealt with in post processing.

My experience with the D200 is that is does a better job than my D2X when I need to shoot in automatic white balance mode – but other than that I prefer my D2X because of it’s extended feature set. I have not seen a noticeable difference between my 2 cameras at hi-iso settings (800 and above) – as neither one is very good. If you shoot your architectural jobs in RAW you shouldn’t have any problems with the D200 when it comes to file size. It is a nice little camera for the price and will give you much better results than your D70’s.
