This is the thirteen consecutive year in which Médicos del Mundo Spain has held the Luis Valtueña International Humanitarian Award. The prize is dedicated to the memory of the four members of Medicos del Mundo who were murdered in Rwanda and Bosnia Herzegovina, and is today one of the premier competitions for humanitarian photography.
