Digital Fried Nikon

Hello, Any body have any experiance jump-starting cameras, seriosly, like in a car. I had an Israeli stun/sound grenade explode about 2 ft from me the other day and after I regained my hearing, I realized my D2H was doner than a dead car battery. No readouts on any of the LCD’s, just absolutly dead. When I got home my fully charged battery was also dead and needed to be recharged, which I found interesting, though still of no use to the body. Any feedback would be appreciated. Until I figure it out its back to film for me. adios

very weird… did the grenade deck you (and the camera) ?
were you carrying other electronics (like a quartz watch or a cellphone) that are also dead ?

did you feel a very strong shockwave from the explosion? the fact that the battery was full before the incident and depleted after makes me think that the shokwave shorted something inside the camera making the battery discharge completely till you got home , and the camera couldn’t turn on for the same reason …
Do you have equipment insurance?

there’s a recall on nikon batteries — I don’t think for the D2H, but check it out:
