Hi Karim,

I was looking at it the other day, and it looks like a fantastic idea, the natural expansion of the crowdfunding of projects (which is great).
I think one of the keys here will be to produce books of extremely good quality (in terms of the printing, besides the quality of the photos, of course). From what I read, it looks like that is one of your priorities.

Best of luck. I think it would be good for all of us if this new model succeeds.

Cheers,

Nacho

Nacho, Well yes quality is one of our first priorities. We have partner with printers in Northern Italy who are dealing with Annie Leibovitz, Peter Beard and other fine art photographers. We have choosen the best components, papers, inks.
As an example, this is the specs of for Peter Dench book.
UK Uncensred
Technical specification:
144 pages
4-color printing
255 × 288 mm, closed format, portrait
150 gsm GardaPad Kiara paper
Case bound, hard cover

Looking at how the funding since a week and how the three photographers have smartly build their online campaign, I’m pretty confident it won’t be long before anyone can touch and feel one of our books.
Let’s make this work, as you said, new models are like new little windows in an old house, we need fresh air in our industry. Emphas.is is thought and design to serve both needs, PJ’s and their audience.

Thx for your feedback and encouragement.

Love the initiative Karim,

As someone trying to get my Pakistan work published, any ‘windows’, of opportunity, however little in the current climate are encouraging.

Its pretty commendable that at least some poeple in the industry are staying positive and are prepared to offer alternatives and initiatives to promote some great, important work. Well done, keep it up!
