Erbil, Arbil, Irak

IÂ´m going to Erbil(Arbil, Irak) in April, does anyone has experience there? Does anyone knows how dangerous it is?

I was there in 2007 and it was quite safe to talk to people and take photos day and night without security.
Mind the open gutters, though.

It is pretty safe, very nice people.. I have been advised by some journalist not to take pictures with out a permit, which you get from the PDK public relations office in Masif Selaaddin (1/2 hours away from Erbil). I have to say, no one asked for it so far…. Apparently it is more useful in the checkpoints around the city.
