FedEx, x-rays and film

Does anyone know if FedEx x-rays their packages?

I need to ship a large amount of film from Los Angeles to London and am a little worried. I assume everything will be ok, since places like BHPhoto ship film via FedEx all the time. Last spring I shipped exposed film from New Orleans to L.A. without a hitch.

Can anyone share their experiences?

thanks in advance,

Never had a problem but FedX always anwsers the inquiry of do they x-ray packages with “We have security procedures in place to examine packages”. I cant imagine with the millions of package’s they ship everyday that there x-raying them all or even a good number. A few times out of paranoia I’ve shipped film from a job in two fedx packages incase they lost one of em not all would be lost. You could try putting the film in a lead x-ray bag when shipping it for a little extra insurance.
